ISSUE

  • RFID tag reading / Barcode reading does not responsive even when pressing the trigger button



APPLIES TO

Point Mobile RFID readers

  • RF851, RF300, RF750, RF900, etc.




RESOLUTION

Cause 1.

Not enough battery

Solution: Charge the reader

If the RFID reader's charging LED (State LED on RF851) blinks red, you should charge the battery for a while before using the reader.

RF851General RFID readers

Cause 2.

Not connected to the host device

Solution: Check connection

Make sure the reader is connected to the host device. When RFID reader and the host device are correctly connected, the following items can be found on the host device.

  • Enabled Connect to RFID Reader or Open RFID switch on RFID Control app
  • An icon indicating the RFID reader's battery level is shown on the status bar
  • RFID reader's status LED (marked with ) lights on green.


Cause 3.

Incorrect trigger mode

Solution: Change trigger mode

In RFID reader, there are two types of reading mode, UHF RFID read mode and Barcode read mode. Before tag / barcode reading, ensure that the RFID reader is in correct reading mode you want.

You can check the current reading mode with LED indicator (marked with).

  • Turned off: UHF RFID mode
  • Solid red: Barcode scan mode

To change the read mode, press the Trigger-mode change button (marked with M) until LED indicates the correct mode.
