ISSUE

  • Unable to read or write NFC tags



APPLIES TO

All Point Mobile devices with NFC feature




RESOLUTION

Before Start: 

  1. Check if your device supports NFC feature
  2. Check that NFC feature is turned on

Cause 1. Wrong NFC tapping area or Disturbance


Solution: Check the tapping area

Find the NFC antenna location. Refer to NFC Tapping Area.

Check if some impediments are attached to the location or if you bring the NFC tag to the wrong area.


Cause 2. Incompatible NFC tag


Solution: Check that the NFC technology of the tag is compatible.

Refer to Supported NFC Tag Type (Login required) to find compatible NFC technology with Android powered Point Mobile devices.


Cause 3. NFC app works abnormally


Solution: Check if the app you use to get NFC tag information works properly.

You can demonstrate the NFC feature by NFC Demo app. Go to EmKit > NFC Demo.

Refer to NFC Demo guide (Login required) to find how to use NFC Demo app.

If the NFC feature works, you can find the data as below screen.


Cause 4. Read only tag


Check if the NFC tag is read-only

The NFC tag may be 'read-only' tag.

As the following figure, this information can be checked on the READ tab using NFC tools.
