Troubleshooting Steps

First of all, check the LED indicator when you press the button. If no LED lights, check the following items.

1Battery fully discharged

Charge the scanner

When the battery is fully discharged, PM5 cannot boot and perform scan action.

In this case, charge the scanner for a while and try again. You can check the battery charging level by pressing the reset button on PM5 while charging.

  • Green: Battery is charged more than 20%
  • Blue: Battery is charged 10 ~ 20%
  • Red: Battery is charged less than 10%
2Trigger accessory is not engaged properly

Reinstall the trigger accessory

When the buttons on PM5 operates but the trigger button does not work, it means that the trigger accessory (single trigger or sled) is engaged not properly.

In this case, reinstall the trigger accessory to confirm the connection between PM5.

  • Single trigger
    • Insert the opposite side of the trigger locker to PM5's trigger assembly latch fist, and push the other end down until it clicks.

  • Sled
    • Insert the end of the sled's scan button side to the PM5 scanner side latch first, and push the other end of the sled down until it clicks.

Check power delivery through trigger accessory

Check if the trigger accessory can deliver the power to PM5 by connecting charger through the USB connector on the accessory.

If the power is properly delivered, the scan button of the trigger accessory have a problem.

4Trigger accessory fault

Assemble another trigger accessory

If you have another trigger accessory, install it instead of the current one and try again.

If the PM5 scans a barcode properly with new trigger accessory, the trigger accessory have a problem.

5Repair or analysis requiredContact local reseller

If you cannot solve the problem with the above steps, contact your local reseller to proceed repair or analyze the issue.
