Troubleshooting Steps



CauseSolution
1Failed to Scan

Try again

If the scan LED (marked with ) on the PM3 blinks red once when you scan a barcode, it means the scanning failed.

Try again aiming the barcode properly while keeping the distance enough.


2Disabled symbology

Enable the symbology

Find out the symbology type of the barcode you want to scan. And then, navigate to Admin Menu 
Barcode / Scan Symbologies and check if the symbology is enabled or not. (There is an asterisk mark (*) at the enabled symbology.)

If disabled, press scan button to enable the symbology and try to scan the barcode again.


3Bluetooth not connected

Connect Bluetooth

Check if the PM3 is connected to a host device.

When the PM3 is connected to a host device properly, the Bluetooth LED indicator (marked with) lights blue.


4Configuration issue

Reset PM3

If the problem is still there, perform the factory reset. There might be a configuration that affects scanning behavior.

Navigate to Admin Menu Sys. Setings Factory Reset.

Caution: After factory reset, all settings will be initialized, and the saved barcode in the storage will be deleted.
